What are live transfers for Hatch Voice AI?

Hatch Voice AI agents answer inbound calls to your business and converse with callers to:

  • Weed out unqualified leads
  • Answer questions and gather information to further qualify the viable leads

From there, the voice AI agent lets the customer know that a representative will be reaching out to them.

This ensures that overflow and after hours calls don't get missed, and that human reps are only spending time on qualified leads and more skillful interactions.

With live transfers, that handoff can happen within the same call, creating an even more seamless AI<>human experience.

How live transfers work for Hatch Voice AI

  • First, create your Voice AI bot triggered by an incoming call.
  • Next, in your Voice AI bot's script, you'll add a /transfer command, where you’ll be prompted to select a workspace to direct the live transfer.
  • When a Voice AI bot carries out that command, the transfer will appear in the workspace just like an incoming call.
  • You’ll see a brief summary on why this transfer was enacted, so you can have enough context to be able to hop onto the call.

FAQs

Can I use live transfers to transfer calls to any of my Hatch workspaces?

Any workspace that shares contacts with your Voice AI bot’s workspace can receive a live transfer!

Can I use call forwarding so a live transfer goes directly to my phone?

Yes, call forwarding works as normal for a live transfer—if the workspace you select to receive the transfer has call forwarding set up, the call will go through to that phone number. But the context provided in Hatch (i.e. the reason the call has been transferred) won’t be included.

What happens if no one is available to pick up the live transfer?

A live transfer behaves just like an incoming phone call to your Hatch number, so typically the call will go to voicemail (and appear on your sales board as a missed call)
